December Days of Happy #8

This one's going up a day late due to madly trying to finish a fic. But it's done and off to beta, so life is SO MUCH BETTER now.
Day 8's happy is tea. I love tea. I didn't really drink much of it (outside of the powdered sugary iced tea mix as a kid) until my mid-to-late teens. When I first started drinking it I used teabags. I drank the Red Rose tea that my grandmother favored when she visited my family. That was the kind that came with a little figuring in the boxes. I wonder if I still have them packed away somewhere.
In college I became interested in herbals to add to my orange pekoe and black tea repertoire.
A coworker at my current job introduced me to the wonders of loose leaf tea about a year ago, perhaps. I've been hooked ever since. I find the process of preparing the water, the loose leaf tea, and the teapot soothing, and it provides a nice build-up feeling prior to taking the first sip. I tend to drink mostly herbals these days, but I usually have a nice earl grey or english breakfast on hand as well.
I'm still a beginner when it comes to loose leaf, though, and have lots and lots more varieties to try, as well as interesting products like kettles, tea balls, tea pots, etc to drool over.
Another big change in my tea-drinking today vs. as a teenager is sweetener. I used to put either sugar or honey and lemon in my tea. I rarely used milk. Now I almost always drink my teas unsweetened.

You know what goes nicely with tea? Chocolate...
