Title: "Protection, Diversion, and Foreplay: The Many Uses for an Umbrella (Or Lack of One)"

Author's Note: The title for this one is very nearly longer than the piece itself. Inspired by
wellymuck's April 6th's prompt.
“You broke it? Sirius-” Remus interrupted himself with a sigh, his shoulders slumping. “It was brand new, a present from my mother.”
“And such good taste she has, too.” Catching the eye roll his friend cast in his direction, Sirius continued on quickly. “It was sacrificed to a good cause, Remus, I promise.”
“Oh? And what cause would that be, eh?”
Sirius glanced quickly around the nearly-empty hallway before stepping closer to Remus.
“Lily finally agreed to go to Hogsmeade with James.”
After a moment of surprise, and no small amount of amusement, Remus realized that the statement had not answered his question.
“And this has to do with my current lack of an umbrella how?"
“Snivellus heard about it somehow, the sneaky git, and wanted to cast some sort of nasty and embarrassing hex on James before they left. I’m the only one who gets to pull that shit, of course, so I had to… distract him. Creatively.”
“Indeed.” Remus tried to keep the bemused note out of his voice, and refused to explore that deliberately ambiguous statement – he was quite sure he didn’t want to know. “And what shall I do next time it rains. Do you suppose?”
“Not to worry, mate,” assured Sirius, throwing his arms around Remus and nibbling at his neck. “I’ll keep you dry… or at least help you get your wet robes off.”
