I got my first tea in the mail on Saturday! I'm so excited. Sadly, due to my general blearghiness I had to wait until today to make my first cup(s) so as to properly appreciate them.

I received 2 lovely teas from [livejournal.com profile] thysanotus. Both teas are new to me, as is the tea shop they are from :) Cutting to the chase, both are great!

Blue Mountain is a flavored black tea from T2 that contains black tea, cornflower blossoms, and flavor (vanilla is the most prevalent that I notice). I love this tea. It has a lovely depth of flavor that isn't overpowering, is slightly sweet, and is oh so smooth. Absolute home run and definitely the black tea I will be reaching for first in the near future. So far I've tried it piping hot and warm (first and second cups from the pot ;) ) and loved both. I think the smoothness of the tea and depth of flavor is accentuated as it cools a bit.

Red Fancy Fruit is a rooibos tisane from T2 that contains fermented rooibos, sunflower petals, rose petals, cornflower blossoms, and flavor. This tea definitely has a "rooibos" flavor (well duh, I know, but I point this out because I've had a few rooibos' lately that have been far fruitier, which overpowered the "rooibos" taste and gave it a more "herbally" experience) so keep that in mind if you try it. I tend to like the flavor when I'm in the mood, and at the moment I definitely am. This tea, other than the rooibos flavor, is fairly subtle without any other overpowering flavors, which is good because the taste persists for a time after swallowing. I definitely prefer this one warm as opposed to my first sip when it was piping hot.

Both teas, brewed (Blue Mountain on the left, Red Fancy Fruit on the right):

ETA: Both are lovely iced!

*Also note: I do not tend to sweeten my teas and almost never add milk, so I have yet to try those variations.

I LOVE T2 tea, they have a TON of different varieties and they're fantastic. In fact, it's the tea brand we stock at the coffee shop I run.

I was so stoked when they opened a store in my local Westfield! Previously I'd had to go to Newtown to get some.
