Fast Forward Count: 1
Sue is spying on the club, as usual, only now she's giving their secrets away to their competition. Will can't prove it, I guess, without going to visit them, so he heads off to the Jane Adams School for Girls, which is apparently a halfway house for kids recently out of juvie. There we meet their director, Miss Hitchins, talking to a student, Aphasia, who steals Will's wallet on her way out of the room. I think I like Aphasia. And Miss Hitchins.
After insulting Miss Hitchins by asking if they've been receiving stolen information from Sue, Will tries to make it up to her by offering them the use of the McKinley auditorium for a practice since they have none of their own. Hitchins accepts the offer of a ″scrimmage″ and they're off.
The Glee kids watch in awe as the Jane Adams girls perform ″I Don't Think Your Ready for This Jelly″ complete with sexy and nifty choreography. Rachel tried to reassure a worried Will. I'm not sure it worked.
Apparently Terri and Kendra are overwhelming Quinn with bad and weird advice. They are disturbing. Though we may have just discovered the reason for why they are the way they are, and that reason is nicotine and alcohol nightly imbibed by their mother while pregnant.
Quinn convinces Kurt to give Rachel a makeover. He accepts because a) he's a sucker for makeovers, and b) Quinn convinces him that Rachel's fashion sense will destroy their chances at Sectionals. Won't they be in costume? Whatever. Kurt goes to Rachel's place to help her out and proceeds to tell her that, in addition to having looks and style terrible enough to necessitate a makeover, she's got a horrid personality and he finds it difficult to be in the same room as her. And that her bedroom is like where Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobby go to hook up. Wow, Kurt, way to soften the blow. He also tells her she's an amazing performer with a great voice. And after all that she chooses to tell him her secret love for Finn.
…
Rachel, you like to make poor life choices, don't you?
Kurt, of course, immediately sees her as competition and on the spot comes up with a dastardly plan to turn Rachel into a ho, precisely the type of woman that Finn isn't attracted to.
And then we have a scene making fun of deaf people. Niiiiiice.
And then we discover that Quinn has changed her mind about giving her baby to the not-pregnant Terri, prompting panic in Terri and Kendra. Kendra hatches a plan to terrify Quinn by offering her money to babysit Kendra's kids. ″Five minutes alone with those little mongrels and she'll have her tubes tied.″
Rachel struts down the hallway and does an excellent job of distracting Finn with her... wiles. Yeah. Wiles. Hmmm, maybe Kurt is legitimately helping Rachel out? Finn definitely did seem to be swayed by Rachel's... wiles... rather than turned off.
Wait. Finn has to ask Quinn's permission to go out without her?
And then Brittany gives us a sample of her hair moves, which she titles ″being tasered″ and ″cool epilepsy.″ And they practice tossing their fake locks. At least until Will catches Sue spying again and calls her out. They fight in the hallway with the choir room door open right in front of the kids and Sue tells him that now that he's seen the competition, he doesn't think his kids can handle it and is now resorting to cheap tricks to distract the audience. I hate to say it, Will, but she may have a point there. And the kids now know it, too.
And now we're back in Rachel's bedroom, only this time it's with Finn. And Rachel's all sexed up in the Sandy number from the end of Grease as they sing the final number. I'm not sure this song is really in Finn's range there at the beginning. And then Finn cuts the song off to tell Rachel that she's making him uncomfortable and that she looks like a ″sad clown hooker.″ Ouch. Alright then, so Kurt was being an ass, which we get confirmed in flashback. And Rachel is destroyed.
And now Puck and Quinn are tied up and surrounded by the shrieking monsters they are babysitting for. Ya know what? I think I've babysat for Kendra's kids in the past. They woo the kids with a ″real live music video″ and it's pretty cute, actually. And Quinn finally has a bit of a baby bump, which I think Puck is appreciating. Or maybe it wasn't her abdomen that he was looking at.
Rachel confronts Kurt. Somehow she thought they were friends? I have no idea why. I mean, besides the fact that they don't hang out, are constantly in competition, and annoy each other, he admitted that he can't stand her, to her face just the other night. Rachel? Where is your head? Anyways, Rachel pretty much instantly clues in to Kurt's crush on Finn. How can she be so perceptive here but so painfully dense regarding their ″friendship?″ Anyways, she drops the harsh reality of Finn's heterosexuality on Kurt, who admits that, in harshest reality, neither of them have any shot at all. Why bother then, you ass!
Time for a showcase with the New Directions performing for the school for the deaf students. I'm not sure their ″hairography″ piece is the wisest choice for these kids considering all the distracting hair flying around, and the fact that if any of the kids are lip-readers it'll be near impossible to follow a dang thing with the hair obstructing the view. The visiting kids offer halfhearted ASL and hearing claps.
Dude, with all that gyrating, how on earth is that gonna fly with Principal Figgins?
Time for the visitors to perform. They are performing ″Imagine″ and it is awesome. I haven't forgotten all my ASL, guys! Yay! So part way through their song, the New Directions kids break into song with them, and part of me thinks it's gorgeous, but part of me wonders why they are interrupting another group's performance. Oh well, the Glee kids seem pretty awesomely moved by it all, so maybe it's a ″teaching moment?″ It really was lovely.
Puck is sexting with Santana while trying to woo Quinn. Puck, you are an idiot. And Quinn changes her mind again and decides to give her baby to Terri because she wants the baby to have a good dad and they both think Will can be that to the kiddo.
Quinn and Finn re-bond and break Rachel and Kurt's hearts. Again. Just like they do every other episode.
Will tries to make up with Sue and gives her the New Directions' setlist. Which she immediately turns around and gives to the directors of the competing teams. And convinces them to abandon their integrity and use it. Niiiiiice.
And then the glee kids perform ″True Colors″ which is a song I adore and they win my heart. And Tina is awesome. How come we can't hear her more?
