[livejournal.com profile] amor_remanet is a goddess divine.

My very last fic exchange/fest fic is off to beta, and I can now go to bed with slightly less guilt. I say slightly, because I've run this one down to the wire (the piece got completely out of hand length and action wise - I just couldn't cut it off, and I still think it could have been expanded more), gotten an extension from a kind and understanding storymistress, run the wire again, and somehow been lucky enough to have a beta that can handle last-minute emergency beta jobs with finesse.

I think I definitely need to take a break from worrying about deadlines and fests and things and just get a handle on my life, and perhaps write something just for the sake of writing it, fandom or not.

We'll see. This last fic was a challenge. It was a pairing and a request that I've never written before. I found it hard to form and plan and write, but a challenge in a good way, too. I can only hope that the recipient thinks so too. That's the hardest part... I had a goal: Make so-and-so happy. I really, really hope I didn't miss the boat on this one, because if someone is going to take the time and effort to write fic for others, they deserve something they enjoy too.

*sigh* Must stop being a whiny pansy now and go to bed. Another long day shift awaits.

I did receive the email, and replied immediately as such with the following message:
I have received my assignment and everything looks good to go :) I am very interested in the idea of the beta resource-group, and would find that extremely useful when my fic is ready.

Thank you so much for doing all the hard work to put this exchange together, I'm looking forward to admiring everyone's creations.

The email I replied to was the following: springsmutmods@gmail.com Is that the correct address for contacting the mods?

ooh - sorry about that! I see it now. Your reply must have been archived before I could check you off the list! (either that or I checked off someone else by accident on the wrong line, always a possibility.) Sorry again!

Perfectly alright! I just got a bit nervous - I'm the wants-to-be-dependable-and-follow-directions sort. Glad we're square :)
