More Doctor Who - contains spoilers for 5.4 and 5.5

I'm not sure I realized how refreshing season 4 was in that Donna wasn't actually all moony over the Doctor romantically. Now that we're throwing that element back in... urgh.

Which is not to say that I don't like this season, I really, really do, in fact. But it was fun when inevitable heartbreak was off the table, ya know?

Anyways, I find the weeping angels among the most sinister and terrifying of the Doctor's adversaries, and really great for the horror-story aspect of their telling, even though they scare the pants off of me since I... don't like horror. At all. And yet I love the episode Blink and this past 2-parter was pretty good too.

And watching the Doctor continually trying to keep his suspenders on properly while Amy kept trying to push them off was hilarious. Am I developing a suspenders kink? I hope not because they aren't exactly popular items of clothing in the fandoms I follow so I'm destined to be disappointed...

Ehhh, I doubt there's any "inevitable heartbreak" going to happen. Amy seems pretty realistic in her goal - she just wants to shag him, LOL. It's a far nicer attitude than Martha's one-sided mooning. And refreshing compared to the OTP-ishness of Rose and Ten, though still problematic in the whole "WE MUST MAKE THE COMPANION A ROMANTIC INTEREST FOR THE DOCTOR" mindset. It's a different dynamic, is all.
