So throughout the cleaning of my kitchen, the writing of the previous post, and the finishing of dishes, I had the kettle on the stove. After finishing the previous tasks and still not hearing even a hint of a whistle, I began to wonder why the heck it took so long to boil water.

Turns out it helps to turn on the burner :-p
